Studio Bisteca is a multidisciplinary design studio I co-founded with my partner Teco Torres, based in Köln. This is the brand identity I designed for it.
The logo is a dog sucking on a mango, which in Brazil is a popular expression for something genuinely, spectacularly ugly. We chose it on purpose, as a way to question what "beautiful" even means in design. We believe in design as a tool, a process, a solution, and we'd rather be bold and interesting than safe and forgettable.
The identity leans into that energy: saturated colors, heavy extended type, a visual language that is loud, Latin, and doesn't shrink to fit in. Bisteca covers visual identity, graphic, product, media, and service design — and beyond client work, we also create and sell our own products, both digital and physical. We're here to bring a Brazilian perspective into the European design scene, and we're not being quiet about it.
